Papercut

Sloane and Mia meet in foster care as children and become best friends. They grow up together in LA in the 90's and one day, while living together, a letter from Sloane's deported father arrives, sending them on a journey to discover what he left behind. Sloane and Mia dig up the remains of his illegal business of selling blank birth certificates and find success running a business of their own until a heartbreaking mistake fractures their friendship forcing Sloane to choose between standing by her friend or saving herself.

Director Biography - Tyler Winther

Tyler is an award winning filmmaker and Epic Games Megagrant Recipient, born in New York and raised in LA. His previous short projects have screened at numerous festivals namely, SLAMDANCE, TRIBECA, HOLLYSHORTS, and CINEQUEST. His Feature documentary work has been shown at The Carter Center and Kennedy Center, while receiving write ups in Moviemaker Magazine, Forbes, and Screenwriter Magazine.

Tyler is a member of the international media artist collective 6x6 PROJECT and an advocate for storytelling through technology.

Claudine wrote this movie as a homage to her father who no longer lives in this country. He did leave behind a wild story which part of this film is based on.
