Palliative Care: My Care, My Right - by Hospis Malaysia

In conjunction with World Hospice and Palliative Care Day 2019 themed "My Care, My Right", Hospis Malaysia produced this video which is all about giving people impacted by a serious illness, a right to voice their concerns, their fears and to determine their care and treatment needs.

This video highlights:
1. The right of a patient to be aware of his diagnosis, no matter how serious it is.
2. The right of a patient to decide how he wants to lead his life in the face of a serious illness.
3. The right of a patient to voice where he may want to be cared for when faced with a serious illness.

As Dame Cicely Saunders, Founder of the modern hospice movement once said:
“You matter because you are you, and you matter to the end of your life. We will do all we can not only to help you die peacefully, but also to live until you die.”
