Pakistan Zindabad

Pakistan, Baltoro Glacier, July 2022. Three mountain-climbers, Leo Gheza, Francesco Ratti and Alessandro Bau, start an expedition to the Trango group. The goal is to develop a new route on the Uli Biaho Spire. Once the acclimatization phase has been completed with the ascent to the Great Trango Tower, it’s time to climb the Trango Tower through the legendary Eternal Flame route. Unfortunately, bad weather forces them to go back a few rope pitches from the top. After a period of reconnaissance to find the best access route to the wall of the Uli Biaho Spire, it's time to try again. Not without difficulties, on July 23rd the team gets to the top by developing the "Refrigerator Off-Width" route. One last wish remains: reaching the top of the Trango Tower. They spend the few days left to reach this goal and they achieve it on the last day before leaving for the return trip. The expedition is narrated with images from cameras and drones by the photographer Ettore Zorzini, who documented the entire journey.

Director Biography - Ettore Zorzini

Photographer, videomaker and professional drone operator since 2021, I started approaching this world when I was a boy.
I was born in the mountains where I still live, so I’m familiar with alpine skiing, freeride skiing, climbing and mountaineering and I practice all these disciplines.
In these last years, I have decided to direct my passion for images in the outdoor sector in particular.
I decided to combine the ability to move on any type of mountain terrain and to create images and videos with cameras and drones and make it my job.
I have followed several mountaineering expeditions around Europe, so in 2022 I was hired as a photographer/videomaker for an Italian expedition to the Trango group, on the Baltoro glacier in Pakistan.
The aim was to develop a new route on Uli Biaho Spire and to repeat historic routes such as Eternal Flame on the Trango Tower (Nameless Tower 6286m).
Professionally, it was the most rewarding experience in my career, because I could create unique aerial images of the Trango Towers. This led me to apply for possible jobs as a drone operator and videomaker in extreme environments/expeditions.
