Pájaros Sin Fronteras / Borderless Birds
Through interviews and oral history, this film, Pájaros Sin Fronteras / Borderless Birds, embarked on a journey, seeking answers to both ecological and social questions.
How can changes in one place influence changes in another?
How does the way we use the land around us relate to migration?
What role do support structures play in resilience?
How can we foster our own sense of community, while simultaneously helping birds?
A comparison of place, this film explores the similarities and differences between bird species in East Central Florida and Puerto Rico, and looks at ways communities can unite around multifaceted solutions to conservation challenges.

Megan (31) is a student, multimedia artist, writer, and avid birder with a passion for storytelling, ecology, and water quality. This project was funded through Kickstarter, and I am so grateful to all of the backers who helped make this project a reality. We were also extremely fortunate to have had the opportunity to develop partnerships with many individuals and organizations in both East Central Florida and Puerto Rico throughout the production of this film, who contributed their time and interviews. My goal was to highlight connections through the making of this film, and the generosity of our donors and interviewees made that possible. COVID-19 presented some challenges, of course, but they pale in comparison to the rewarding outcomes I have consistently experienced throughout this film's creation.
