Christopher Mays is a director, writer, and actor based out of Los Angeles, CA. He is an alumnus from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a B.F.A in Film and Television and an artistic eye for psychological storytelling, dramatic narratives, and experimental filmmaking. As a storyteller, he has always enjoyed projecting narratives that focus on mental, social, or political issues that don't receive the necessary attention they need in our society today. Personal experiences and observations from human perspectives have helped him bring those stories to light through the film medium. He plans to work with many filmmakers in his career who are passionate about powerful storytelling and meaningful expression through the art of film.
"Painter's Block" is a film I wrote about what truly scares me as a human being, which is losing a loved one through devastating circumstances. As an artist who has lost loved ones in my life, projecting the grieving process on paper produces a roller coaster of emotions. It provides closure, but I know in the back of my head the thought of their losses will forever haunt me. I want Andrew's character to emulate those feelings of loss from an artist's perspective.
