This industry is not for the fainthearted, for example I encountered a profound challenge during my "Heading for the Light" project: managing my internal fears, doubts, and emotional wounds, while also navigating my disabilities, including dyslexia. My pursuit of perfection often requires me to step outside my comfort zone, without much support from team members across different departments of production. Traditionally, I delegate tasks to ensure high-quality results, but this time, I felt the weight of the project solely on my shoulders. This led me to question my ability to manage everything independently. The driving force behind completing the "Heading for the Light" track was to pay tribute to my late mother. I often reminisced about playing the intro of the unfinished track for her in our living room during her battle with terminal illness. She was my greatest supporter, radiating joy and dancing to the music with her remaining strength, expressing how much she adored it. Her determination in facing her illness, even when it took her breath away, fueled my resolve. Throughout the production process, I reminded myself that I had to persevere and make her proud; this project was deeply personal as it was the last one she witnessed me undertake. It was uplifting to see that the crew and cast were enthusiastic and supportive on the shoot day, recognizing the profound importance this project held for me. Filming in a captivating cave setting was exhilarating, and witnessing the transformation of the actors and dancers into zombies was thrilling. Editing the video, and the finishing segments creatively allowed me to transcend my limits and inspire everyone involved in this meaningful endeavour.
