PROOF is a short film festival in Los Angeles dedicated to showcasing the best in proof-of-concepts.

Do you have a short film or short pilot that you would like to see made into a feature film, television show, limited series, or another longer form of entertainment? Submit to PROOF! Providing a highly competitive and unique festival experience, as well as opening the door for fruitful future filmmaking opportunities, PROOF is a one-stop-shop for the newest emerging talent.

For this festival, we define a proof-of-concept as a smaller version of what a larger future project might look like. It is a short film that best represents the concept, story, tone and themes of a potential feature film or television series.

PROOF is powered by the American Cinematheque. The American Cinematheque is a member-supported 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization, programming cinema at the Los Feliz 3, Aero Theatre, and Egyptian Theatre. The AC believes that cinema is a communal experience with the power to entertain, enlighten and inspire, building a diverse and engaged film community through immersive film curation, conversation, and presentation. The American Cinematheque bridges the filmmaker to the audience and film history to its future.

The best short film festival I have ever been to! PROOF really cares about their filmmakers; from panels on zoom before you even get there, to setting up meetings for you in the industry. It's an exciting place to be and so so fun to go to.

We had an absolute blast at PROOF this year. We met so many talented filmmakers and saw such great, personal movies. The networking opportunities were plentiful and rewarding. Also the festival coordinators were so cool and knew all the filmmakers and films by name. As filmmakers we were walking around the whole weekend amazed at how well they took care of us and the common line was "10 years from now this is going to be one of the best festivals in the world." Honestly one of the best experiences I've ever had as a filmmaker.

What a fantastic experience! We were thrilled that our short "Fishers of Men" took Gold at this fest, but even more excited about the stellar turnout!

This was the last stop of our festival run and it included some of the most passionate filmmakers and film fans we've encountered, not to mention high quality speakers and zoom sessions leading up to the festival. Super well attended and just a boatload of passion that you could feel in the air.

Imani and Hannah outdid themselves! They love film and it shows in the way they ran this fest. Very highly recommended! Worth the entry fee and more!
