Bilingual (English & Japanese) director based in Tokyo and New York.
Born and raised in Tokyo. To pursue his dream of becoming a filmmaker, he quit his high school to move to the United States by himself without speaking English when he was 17. He graduated from the Tisch Film & TV program at New York University. While in NY, he freelanced as a director and cinematographer and his work has won and been selected for several awards including Tribeca Film Festival 2020, Miami Independent Film Festival, Nantucket Film Festival and ARRI Volker Bahnemann Award.
After living in the U.S. for 8 years, his had to move back to Tokyo because his artist visa was denied. Currently, he works as a director and cinematographer on commercials and narrative films. His clients include: DESCENTE, Aoyama Tailor, Universal Music, CNN, NBA, SoftBank, Ryukakusan, MOFA, Kohl’s etc.
When he directs, he is usually his own cinematographer as well. He believes that commercials should be cutting-edge and should start the trend rather than following one. His goal is to make something timeless that people in 100 years will still appreciate. His favorite film is American Beauty and he loves milk.
Thank you so much for being interested in our project and taking the time to watch the film. This project was the hardest thing I have ever done. I have spent more than a year on pre-production because I wanted to make this perfect. Everyone has put so much time and effort into this, and I think we created something special and beautiful.
There are 7 billion people on this earth and at least a few are bound to be doing exactly what you are doing right now. I believe it is when we interact and create with others that we uncover what is special about our individuality and add meaning to our life. Please partner with me in this journey and spread this film for all to enjoy.
Again, thank you so much. Much Love.
