1. Open to any Eastern Washington* public, private, or home-schooled high school student or any Eastern Washington* university or college student.
*Student must ATTEND SCHOOL in Eastern Washington, meaning any of the following counties: Adams, Asotin, Benton, Chelan, Columbia, Douglas, Ferry, Franklin, Garfield, Grant, Kittitas, Klickitat, Lincoln, Okanogan, Pend Oreille, Spokane, Stevens, Walla Walla, Whitman, or Yakima.
2. Crew must be composed entirely of students. Actors do not have to be students and do not have to live in Eastern Washington.
3. Must be completed between September 30, 2016 and October 9, 2016 and uploaded before midnight on October 9. (Any film not uploaded before midnight is disqualified; we recommend uploading early.)
4. The Key Creative** team must be at least 50% female.
**Key creative is defined as: Director, Producer, Screenwriter, Director of Photography (Cinematographer), Composer, and Editor. The additional crew roles are up to each team.
5. All forms must be turned in either by email, turned in online, or turned in via mail. If mailed, they must be postmarked no later than Tuesday October 10, 2016.
6. Each film must be four (4) to six (6) minutes in length.
7. Upload via FilmFreeway.
8. Parents or legal guardians must sign for all crewmembers and talent under the age of 18 years old.
9. All of these criteria must be met in order for a film to compete, including our secret criteria. PNW RepFest and its judges reserve the right to judge disqualify films that have not met our requirements.
SECRET CRITERIA:
You must use an obsolete technology as a prop (like a pager).
You must have at least one night scene.
You must feature a current event in either dialogue or as an obvious prop.
BONUS:
Bonus points will be awarded if you have an actor/actress who is special needs/ has disabilities, either mental or physical. One (1) bonus point will be awarded for a supporting character (must have one line or be featured for 15 or more seconds to be considered supporting) and two (2) bonus points will be awarded for a lead character.
Bonus points will be awarded if you have an actor/actress who is a person of color. One (1) bonus point will be awarded for a supporting character (must have one line or be featured for 15 or more seconds to be considered supporting) and two (2) bonus points will be awarded for a lead character.
Bonus points will be capped at a maximum of six (6) per team. A team may reach those six points however they choose.
