Having lived in Taiwan, Qatar, Abu Dhabi, India, The Philippines, New York City, Connecticut, San Diego, and Los Angeles, NekkoTora AKA Neil Andrew Cerullo has set his sights on Hollywood as the vehicle to create stories drawn from and crafted for a world-wide audience.
A Film, TV, & New Media Production major at the USC School of Cinematic Arts, NekkoTora focuses on writing & directing short form content, building stories on culture and exploring the identity of the self; gender & sexuality, race & pop-culture, and the exploration of the human-experience and how it motivates our lives and consciousness – all within a cinematic narrative in the form of drama, comedy, and action.
Between May to September of 2016, NekkoTora will shoot & direct short-form comedy for two new-media productions, one 81-minute feature film in the Philippines, and has written two scripts upon the request of a fellow director which will be shot over this 2016 Summer.
NekkoTora's second exploration as a feature film writer & director will take place in Mexico, between September and November of 2016.
NekkoTora holds more than 30 awards for motion picture and still photography, both in the United States and abroad.
There has never been a better time, in the history of the world, for an individual or group of individuals to craft and tell stories.
Better yet, there has never been so many methods and modes of distribution, so many viewers with so many screens, to experience that which can influence their own chosen culture or way of life.
It is my desire and passion to convey perspectives of conscious decision making that question the status-quo or cultural norms through wildly entertaining cinematic narratives.
We all live for but a short period of time; I will not waste mine.
