PARTISAN
Wounded on the battlefield, a young partisan escapes into the forest for safety. As he takes his final breaths, the vision of his mother, the most valued person in his life, appears before him. Her passion for film started in her young childhood years and Polina has strived to achieve her dream of being a film director ever since. Making her first short film on the now-discontinued Windows Movie Maker at ten years old, Polina has since made a multitude of short films varying in many genres while also assisting on-set of many student films in order to learn as much as she could. Recently graduating from California Lutheran University with a Bachelor of Arts in Film and TV Production, Polina also participated and acquired 3rd place in two CLU 48 Hour Film Festivals.
“PARTISAN” is Polina’s debut film as she put all her heart and soul into its making. Upon realizing she did not know who partisans were and the impact, the service, and the sacrifices they made in World War II, Polina was motivated to educate others. Inspired by a widely-known poem about a Soviet partisan, Polina dedicated two years to give the story justice, and to give World War II partisans the absolute recognition they deserve.
