Writer Statement

"Paradies" is more than just a project for me; it’s a reflection of my roots in Fribourg, Switzerland, where picturesque landscapes often harbor hidden darkness. It also represents my immense passion for suspenseful storytelling akin to "LOST," David Fincher's "The Game," and "Severance." The bilingual setting enriches the narrative, mirroring the internal conflicts of the characters and adding layers of authenticity and depth.

The series embarks on a modern, aesthetically rich journey of suspense and horror within a family drama, sprinkled with sci-fi elements. "Paradies" draws inspiration from works like "Insidious," "LOST," "Euphoria," "Interstellar," "The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo", and even "Heidi," aiming to captivate young adults through its blend of suspense, unsettling horror, and intriguing mosaic-style storytelling. It’s a character-driven tale that delves into the tensions between fear, loss, mental health and immense trauma while also exploring themes of hope, love, and redemption.

Through Claire's journey of finding out what happened to her family, I strive to craft a narrative that is both visually compelling and emotionally resonant. My experience growing up in Fribourg and having lived, studied, and worked in different language regions of Switzerland ensures the story’s authenticity. My goal is to create stories that entertain, provoke thought, and evoke empathy, making a meaningful contribution to the world of visual storytelling.

The passion I have poured into the series "Paradies" has been part of me for more than seven years now. I hope it shines through and resonates with audiences and potential collaborators alike. My ultimate dream is to turn my vision of the TV series "Paradies" into a reality one day.
