PAJAREANDO

Pajareando is a five-episode documentary series that invites viewers to discover the incredible diversity of birds that inhabit Bogotá. Starring five representative species of the city—the Bogotá Rail, the Spotted Rail, the Yellow-legged Thrush, the Rufous-collared Sparrow, and the Shining-green Hummingbird—the series reveals the secrets of these birds, their unique behaviors, and the challenges they face in their urban and natural environments. Through captivating imagery and a profound narrative, Pajareando aims to connect audiences with local wildlife and raise awareness about the importance of its conservation.

Renowned ornithologist Oswaldo Cortés, known for his extensive work in studying Colombian birds, guides this journey. With his expertise and passion for nature, Cortés takes us through the city's diverse habitats, exploring the ecosystems where these species thrive, from wetlands to urban parks. Each episode offers a unique window into the behavior of these birds, highlighting their crucial role in Bogotá's ecological balance.

The cinematography is led by Jhavier Xnokx, who masterfully captures the beauty of each of these settings. His visual approach highlights the most striking details of the birds and their surroundings, showcasing Bogotá not only as a vibrant city but also as a natural sanctuary for wildlife. His work provides a fresh and engaging perspective on the biological richness that often goes unnoticed in the urban landscape.

Additionally, the series features a special appearance by Evelyn Martínez, a veterinarian and director of the Aves SOS Bogotá Foundation. Her contribution adds valuable insight into the well-being and health of these species, reinforcing the message of conservation. The production team extends its gratitude to the natural spaces that made this experience possible: Cerro de Monserrate, Sendero El Paramuno, Humedal La Florida Park, and Simón Bolívar Park, which provided ideal settings to observe these birds in their full splendor.
