TERMS & CONDITIONS:
- Unlike other festivals, older films are welcome. Send us your best!
- Films must be complete before being submitted. Works-in-progress are not accepted.
- We only accept submissions through FilmFreeway.
- Non-English films must have English subtitles embedded in the video (not SRT, sorry).
- Entry Fees are nonrefundable.
- The decision of the judges is final.
- Sorry, no waivers.
- All films selected for the festival grant rights to Shaffer Media Enterprises LLC to run on Appealing TV in pseudo-live mode until 30 days after the festival date. This means that the films will run like a TV channel; viewers can't watch your film "on demand". If you would like to have your film also available on demand, that can be arranged. We can also embed a URL watermark to your web site if you like. Films may be resolution-reduced for streaming. Appealing TV is available on Roku and Amazon Fire TV; you can see the live stream or get more information at AppealingTV.com.
- All films chosen will grant Shaffer Media Enterprises LLC the rights to use clips/trailer for promotional purposes.
- Shaffer Media Enterprises LLC reserves the right to cancel the festival for any reason. In the event that this happens before selections are made, submission fees will be refunded. If the physical event is cancelled after selections are made, due to circumstances beyond the control of the organizers, every reasonable attempt will be made to reschedule.
- Official selections will be screened at the live event.
- Prize money will be paid through PayPal.
- You warrant that you are authorized to submit the film and that you have obtained all releases and approvals for a public presentation of your film. You will indemnify and hold harmless Shaffer Media Enterprises LLC, and its associated festivals, creators, production companies, funders and assigns, from and against any and all claims, liabilities, losses, damages, and expenses (including but not limited to attorney’s fees, and costs of the court) which may be incurred by reason of any claim involving copyright, trademark, credits, defamation or publicity related to the presentation, distribution or promotion of your film.
