Oyster
An argument between an unhappy couple, triggered by the consumption of a bad bunch of oysters, escalates into a heated fight, due to the wife's desire for a child that in reality serves as a metaphor for her unfulfilled desire of liberation and freedom from eternal suffering.
The film explores the complexities of human emotion, the resilience of the human spirit, and the transformative power of art. It serves as a testament to the strength that can arise from adversity and the ability to find beauty in the midst of chaos.

Anoushka is an ambitious 19-year-old film student from Dubai, who has a deep passion to become a professional screenwriter and director. Born and raised in a lower middle-class Indian family, she faced numerous challenges in pursuing her creative aspirations, as such careers were often frowned upon in her cultural background. Despite the obstacles, she remained steadfast in her pursuit of her dreams. Anoushka's early years were marked by constant transitions as she switched schools frequently. Alongside these changes, she witnessed the fragility of her parental relationship, which left her feeling isolated and melancholic as she grew older. However, it was during these difficult times that Anoushka discovered her true calling—writing and making films. It was through these creative outlets that she found solace, as she realized the power of storytelling and the ability of films to capture and convey emotions in a visually compelling manner. Throughout her film school journey, Anoushka has honed her skills in various aspects of the filmmaking process. With a particular focus on directing, screenwriting, assistant directing, and producing, she has demonstrated a diverse range of talents and a multifaceted approach to her craft. Driven by her own personal experiences and a desire to give a voice to those who are often unheard,
Anoushka's work explores themes of identity, resilience, and the human condition. Through her storytelling, she aims to challenge societal norms and shed light on marginalized perspectives, drawing inspiration from her own struggles and triumphs. Anoushka believes that films have the power to evoke profound emotions, to inspire change, and to foster a sense of empathy within audiences.
Oyster is a love letter dedicated to my mother, who has always been a beacon of creativity in her own realm of solitude. Throughout my life, she has been the driving force behind my artistic pursuits, igniting my passion and nurturing my talents with unwavering love and support.
However, the broken marriage between my parents has cast a long shadow over my existence. It has been a reminder of the fragility of love and the profound impact it can have on those involved.
In the wake of this emotional turmoil, Oyster emerged as a cathartic creation—an embodiment of my own journey through trauma. Like an oyster that forms a pearl around an irritant, I have transformed my pain and anguish into something beautiful and resilient.
Within the delicate layers of Oyster's narrative, I explore the complexities of human emotion, the resilience of the human spirit, and the transformative power of art. It serves as a testament to the strength that can arise from adversity and the ability to find beauty in the midst of chaos.
