Owen McCarter (b.1998) is an American photographer, sculptor, and filmmaker based in the Northeastern US. His practice explores memorialization, place-identity, and historical memory through both still and moving images, interweaving traditional documentary with constructed narratives and elements of absurdity. He received his BFA from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2022 where he was awarded the Norman and Rose Avnet Fellowship Award, the Monson Residency Award, and the T.C. Colley Award for Excellence in Photography. He is currently pursuing his MFA at Cornell University. His work has been exhibited in the Berkshire Museum and galleries internationally.
