Owen McCarter (b.1998) is American artist living and working in the Northeast. His practice explores memorialization, place-identity, and historical memory through both still and moving images, interweaving traditional documentary with constructed narratives and elements of absurdity. He has been the recipient of The Norman and Rose Avnet Fellowship Award and the T.C. Colley Award for Excellence in Photography. His work has been exhibited in the Berkshire Museum, the RISD Museum, and galleries internationally.
