Director Statement

"'Over the Hatch' is a film about following through on dreams no matter the odds or challenges. The theatrical and staged telling of this otherwise true story becomes a reflection of my intention to make a film no matter the circumstances. The quest for rooftop access and desire to make a film exist in tandem; one could not exist without the other. Through this process was also an embrace of filmmaking and my closest values around artistic creation; this includes the joy of collaboration, embracing imperfections, striving for an authentic portrayal, childlike curiosity, accessibility, and having fun during the entire process. I hope you enjoy it as much as we did making it!"
