Director Biography - Sean Conroy

Sly, smart, and exceedingly silly, first-time Director Sean Conroy is a gifted comedian with an impressive skill set: Writer, Stand-up, Improviser, Actor, Podcaster.

Sean has written for Adult Swim, Comedy Central, Seeso, MTV, Spike TV, UPN, NBC and ABC. Most recently he was Head Writer and Co-Executive Producer for 4 seasons of the cult hit Adult Swim show Mr. Pickles, an animated show about a dog who’s sort of like Lassie (but who worships Satan and is a serial killer). He was also Head Writer and Executive Producer for Gentlemen Lobsters on Seeso. He wrote for the Comedy Central sketch show Key and Peele (and was nominated for a WGA award).

As a Stand-Up, Conroy has been featured on Comedy Central and Conan O'Brien. He wrote his own one-man show, Taught, that went to the HBO Comedy Festival in Aspen, CO.

As an Improviser, Sean was a regular performer in ASSSSCAT, the flagship show at the UCB Theater, for over twenty years; in fact, he still performs in that show when he has time. He is a founding member of "The SWARM", the legendary “first-ever house team” at the UCB Theater. He has appeared in a variety of roles on television (most of which fall into the category he calls “Weird Guy”) on TV shows like Comedy Bang! Bang!, The Goldbergs, War at Home, Working Class, The Kroll Show, and Children’s Hospital.

He has co-hosted The Long Shot (Podcast) (“…rollicking… a consistent delight!”- AV Club) since 2010, and created, hosted, and/or appeared regularly on podcasts like The Great American Cabinet of Curiosities, Sean Conroy Presents: The Flabbergast, The Andy Daly Podcast Pilot Project, Improv4Humons, and Sean Conroy Gets Happier.

Over The Line is his first film.
