Out of touch

A short screen dance about when you are out of touch with your surroundings. How are you influenced by your surroundings when they are not what you are accustomed to? When you feel out of place and disconnected.

This is a dance tribute to the wast majority of Greenlandic students that each year are indirectly forced to move abroad to be able to study the subject of their choosing. They move to a foreign culture, people and country. It is not visible on a day to day basis, but there is always an underlying feeling of lacking and detachment. A feeling of being out of touch.

This dance short touches upon just a fragment of the structural complications that exist due to Greenland's colonial history. It can hopefully help spread the awareness of the affect the colonial history has, in present day Greenland and contribute to the decolonisation of Greenland and its people.
