Stephanie is a British writer and actress from the South Coast. This is her solo directorial debut. She has a passion for making films that tackle social issues and previously she co-directed a short on Homelessness that was shown on local television. She trained at E15 Acting School and has played numerous roles on screen. Most notably Pamela in How to Talk to Girls at Parties (Studio Canal/Film4) which premiered at Cannes and stars Nicole Kidman, Elle Fanning, Ruth Wilson and Matt Lucas. She has also appeared in Down Dog – a British Comedy on Amazon Prime with Nick Moran and Tom Goodman Hill, BBC’s Casualty and Doctors. Stephanie won a Best Actress Award for her leading role in Groupie and most recently played Essex Girl Trish in Hypericum’s Dragonflies Only Live for 24 Hours which premiered at BAFTA and has just signed with a US distributer, now available on US Prime.
Stephanie and Richard came together for this project. They have worked closely in the past, she has acted in five of his films and also assisted in casting on a number of projects, including Lovers Lookout, under Richard’s direction, which was selected for the BAFTA qualifying Foyle Film Festival.
Stephanie has a few exciting projects currently in the pipeline including one in Post-Production in which she was able to get behind the wheel of an Audi A8 and put her foot on the gas – which she enjoyed very much.

As the Covid-19 lockdown was set in motion worldwide, we were warned that we would experience a ‘surge of violence’ in homes across the globe and that conditions such as these would serve as fuel for domestic abuse. Domestic violence has since soared. We now know abuse killings have doubled in the UK, and consequently charity helplines have been hugely overwhelmed. A report recently released by MP’s warned that the pandemic would have “devastating consequences for a generation” if the British government failed to urgently tackle the issue.
Having been thoroughly impassioned to try and raise awareness of this urgent issue the UK (and the wider world) currently faces, I started writing a short film with this intention. Filmed on an iPhone in
one location with no budget, during the pandemic with a female lead – our process has been full of lessons. But our hope is that, like us, people will find this film’s content and what it stands for is something important that needs more exposure at this time. Our prayer is that it will empower people to try and do something about it.
