Born and raised an only child in the Bronx, New York, Louisa was immersed in the arts at an early age. She was a member of her church choir, Drama club, first violin in her elementary school Orchestra which was partially supported by Paul Newman’s arts foundation. She then went on to receive a BFA: Fine Arts from Syracuse University and to a successful Musical Theater career in NY with appearances On and Off-broadway, as a Radio City Rockette, as well as tours across North America.
A move to Los Angeles provided more than a change of scenery and warmer weather, it was the inspiration Louisa needed to develop and share the stories she had been writing. Louisa’s first short film "Till We Stop Having Fun" screened in five festivals around the country and won Best Comedy at the San Diego Black Film Festival. Officially bitten by the writing/producing bug, Louisa writes screenplays, pilots, sketches, musicals and short stories. She is a recent graduate from the Second City Conservatory Improv program.
Behind the scenes, Louisa has successfully helped 3 start ups to their feet with her ability to wear many hats. As a Product Evangelist for Spoink, she has written speeches and presented at Tech Crunch, as well as multiple South Bay Angel Investor events. She is also one-third of the dynamic trio Comedy Divas, where Louisa wore the Actor/Writer/Director/Editor/Marketing Manger hats to help promote the comic trio and produced several viral Youtube videos. Louisa looks forward to growing as writer, showcasing her talents, and becoming a working television writer and content creator.
This project is so dear to my heart. I was driving my children to school one day and my son asked why people were camping on the sidewalk and not in the park. I was not prepared for the conversation and knew I couldn't do it justice in the 10 minutes left on our commute. But the question is stuck in my mind and struck the chord that produced this film.
