Our Light Within is an excerpt from several works of "Back to the Heart -The LA Dance Moves Experience" which is a concept-based theme work in which the composer is part of the choreography in order to intimately bind the music with the dancers.

Dancing to live, improvisational piano, the dancers perform in the moment utilizing set choreography, staging and thei own improvisatonal talents ina p[ecial section You will witness art being created in real time as the dancers respond to the Composer's music for the first time.

Nancy Paradis – Director
Director Nancy Paradis, LA Dance Moves introduces to the world a new genre of performance art. This is for the visionaries; dancers and musical artists alike, who can intimately share their stories of love, life, pain, and triumph through both sight and sound. The mission is to Inspire by touching the heart and illuminating the soul. We invite you to watch our latest film so you can enjoy this unique and visceral experience.
Nancy began her career on the east coast performing with the Washington Ballet, Richmond Ballet and Louisville Ballet. In Los Angeles, Nancy trained and performed in film, television and commercial dance world including MTV Movie Awards, Disney Special Events, NBC, Fox and Netflix.

She has been teaching, choreographing and inspiring artists for 35 years. She’s an adjunct professor for 23 years working at UC Irvine, UCLA, Loyola Marymount University and Moorpark College. She is a guest choreographer around the country and is setting a world premiere on the Richmond Ballet Spring 2023.

Nancy started producing her own works 7 years ago with the vision of collaborating composers, dancers, music and art in a new and exciting genre. She is proud of creating her dream concert “Back to the Heart” where all these components were present, in addition to a live filming with a sold-out audience.

Work of this artistic nature cannot be done without excellent artists who share the vision. Please meet the cast of Back to the Heart:

Cast:
Frederick Keeve - Composer and Actor
Frederick Keeve has been writing most of his life, either for pleasure, academically or professionally for the entertainment business. He is also an accomplished musician, music director, accompanist, and composer. In addition, Keeve recently completed a Ph.D. in Organizational Psychology. He enjoys combining his passion for film, psychology, spirituality and music that fuels his lifelong goal to elevate people's consciousness through his art—as filmmaker, producer, composer, director, writer and actor.

Amongst many films and television work, Mr. Keeve completed a feature film, The Accompanist, a fantasy/drama gay love story with magical realism, classical ballet and classical music as the backdrop. He has won or been nominated for over 35 major awards at film festivals around the world. The film's theme: using the healing power of art to unite and celebrate who we truly are. Frederick also completed and released his feature film, The Godfather Buck, in 2022 which he is very excited about, and is currently making the festival rounds

Mr. Keeve has the feature film Salome: A Love Story coming out in 2023 for which he is the main producer and leading male role, Jimmy Comes Marching Home in 2023 for which he plays the leading role of James Stewart, and he is also in pre-production on The Accompanist Awakening the sequel to his award-winning feature film The Accompanist, and in pre-production on the six-part miniseries The Girl from Hollywood by Edgar Rice Burroughs and also starring and producing the theatrical play production of The Godfather Buck in 2023.

Mr. Keeve's lifetime mission is to develop and produce highly conscious screenplays, films and music that reflect not only the diversity in society today, but also the need to evolve "Hollywood" into a more conscious conduit for great storytelling that entertains, but can also enlighten and uplift audiences.

Frederick was thrilled to collaborate with LA Dance Moves, not only to perform his music but to be part of the vision of this new genre of music and dance. He was deeply moved by LA Dance Moves and its healing touch, not only in performance but during the actual creation process.

Principal dancer Akem Harrison is a guest artist who resides both in Memphis TN and Los Angeles. He appears in the last movement “Our Light Within” and shares his story of pain and struggle while being gently guided by the kind Goddesses.

The Goddesses:
Hannah Barr, Michelle Lebowski, and Damara Titmus are the beautiful ballerinas in the role of “the Goddesses”. They work as independent and company dancers in Los Angeles and the Orange County regions. These ladies shared their talents of dance and acting and in the first movement “Goddesses of Music” and the last movement “Our Light Within” includes improvisational movement which is extremely rare in the ballet world.

Principal Dancers:
Elise Filo and Chasen Greenwood are principal dancers in the movement titled “Pieces of You.” It is a duet that tells the story of passion and escape compounded by the composer’s presence and interaction. These dancers work both independently and in company life in Los Angeles and they tell their stories in the documentary.

Photography
The beautiful photography in this project was captured by Scott Edwards Photography w Scott was present at many of the rehearsals and captured true to life work-in-progress moments told in black and white. His photos from the live performance are stunning and heartfelt. Scott works in southern California capturing dance and art.

Cinematography
The Live Performance was filmed and edited by industry icon Jerry Evans. Jerry is a master of filming and editing dance and had an extremely successful career as a choreographer and director in Los Angeles.

The artist’s interviews were filmed by Juanito Newell who also captured beautiful moments of the very first rehearsal; Duet black and white format.
