Experiencing Interruptions?

Or we don't talk at all

What happens when we start to lose our memory? Who are we when the now and the past starts to blend? Who are our sons and daughters when our parents goes through childhood?

In a film with many personal layers, choreographer and dancer Kit Brown and the now retired former ballet dancer Niels Simonsen dance the viewer through a complex relationship.

The project sprung out of the poetry of Henry Bronett who's words and voice are taking the audience on a journey of loss and love that many of us know all too well.

CARL JOHAN F. KARLIDAG

Carl was born and raised in the countryside of southern Sweden and graduated from Stockholms Filmskola specializing in cinematography and production. Currently he is shooting films for Skånes Dansteater in projects that combine a love for visual art and a curiosity about how movement influences us and creates subtle pathways the for the viewer.

With a degree also in journalism from Skurups Folkhögskola he also draws inspiration from the language documentary and a social and political undercurrent is often present.
Building from the experience of having worked on two documentary TV-shows for the Swedish public service broadcaster SVT about the Roma minority in Sweden, Carl work with images that can be viewed from two sides. The questions and awareness of how stereotypes are produced and reproduced becomes not only a fundamental part of his working process but also a source of building layers within the visual storytelling.
During 2014-2021 he was teaching journalism and filmmaking at Skurup Folkhögskola and in 2018 he founded a cultural incubator and education for freelance artists called KPL. He is also a board member of Filmcentrum Syd and engaged in developing and promoting dance films.
