Oriada islami - is an Albanian- American professional dancer and choreographer born to an Opera singer’s family. At age eight she entered the “ Vaganova Dance Academy”.in Albania. At a very young age Oriada began participating in television, Ballet and Galas and, at the same time, she finished her academic education. At age eighteen she danced her first principal role, Zhizel in "Zhizel", with the Albanian National Opera. In 1990 the family left for the West and, after several international engagements, settled in Berlin, Germany. During her professional career she has performed the work of many renowned choreographers in many countries such as London in Royal Opera House, Elizabeth Hall, Frankfurt in Frankfurt Theater, South Korea, Japan, Amsterdam, Berlin Opera just to name a few. Out of the over one thousand women that have auditioned In 2003, Oriada was invited by world renowned choreographer Twyla Tharp to perform the Lead Role (Brenda) a Tony Award nominated role, on Broadway in “Movin Out” (musical) Conceived and created by Twyla Tharp, featuring the songs of Billy Joel. Since 2003 Oriada is currently living in New York City and working with Metropolitan Opera in New York.
She founded ORI ADA PRODUCTION in 2020 and “BREATH” will be her first work as a director a writer a performer and video producer and developing feature film projects that explore alternatives and inspiring our audiences through visual and emotional engagement.
