Experiencing Interruptions?

Emperor's Orphans

Almost 140 years after the Proclamation of the Republic in Brazil, a group of people sets up a “movement” that aims to restore the monarchy and the Brazilian Empire in the 21st century.
Revolted and tired of the promises of the republic, these people are anchored in a conservative and restorationist cause, linked to religion and traditionalism.
But to what extent does this movement cease to be legitimate and start to be considered a setback in the vision of democratic, political and social institutions and advances in modern Brazilian society?
In this short journalistic documentary, journalist Thiago Alonso seeks to understand the moral, ethical and sociopolitical impasses that involve the practical application of a monarchy in Brazil, from different perspectives of this cause, which has emerged on the internet with the rise of the extreme right, interviewing supporters of the movement, researchers, historians and specialists in the history of monarchical and republican Brazil.
