Director Statement

This project began by reading into the spirit of Wetiko and Wasi'chu.
Studies of Jungian interpretations of fairy tales also had a play,
as well as trips to Ucluelet, BC to crawl around the tide pools.
This was before a story was even born.
Another year after sketching storyboards and thinking visually,
one fell from the sky on a two minute walk to grab a sandwich.
Then the real work began.
By the time we were close to wrapping it up,
it had come to my attention that the words Wetiko and Wasi'chu ought not be appropriated.
Ashley (our protagonist) suggested Orbita, which seemed to fit nicely.
It's bittersweet to release this project.
It was something to return to every evening.
I'm grateful for the friends and contributors who found time to assist.
