Orange Morning Paper River
Absurd as the world today.
Irrational & dream-like film is a montage of strange images and stream of consciousness.
The original 16 mm film footage has been altered, literally destroyed, by scratching, drawing, painting and taping grass, yarn, spices, letters, text and images on the film. The reworked footage has been reshot and edited digitally.
The audio is an abstract layered montage of voice fragments and sounds of scraping, whizzing, buzzing and rattling recorded during playback of the reworked thick film reel on a 16 mm editing table.

KirsiMarja Metsähuone is interested in non-narrative in film and narration in photographic expression. Often she works with image-text hybrids.
Her experimental short films and videos are without a traditional narrative and the structure is often times cyclical relying on repetition, close-ups and semi-abstract ambiguity.
