Director Statement

We began this project out of a desire to act with each other. What it grew into was an attempt to honestly capture the struggle of high-school friendships. The period before you learn the language of "self care" and "emotional validation". When you know about half of what you think you do about your friends. When you know about half of what you think you do about yourself. And how the impact of that half-knowledge colors your relationships. As painful as this struggle is, it ultimately yields some of the sweetest memories. As Frank Ocean sings, "I ain't a kid no more. We'll never be those kids again." We could feel that, so we wanted to capture it while the feeling was still fresh. We believe we did and we hope our audience thinks so too.
