Operácia Overlord - Neptune

D-Day - June 6, 1944
Members of Company A - 505th of the 82nd Airborne Division during Operation Overlord - Neptune (designation for the initial phase of Operation Overlord), responsible for the defense of the important strategic location of La Fière near the town of Sainte-Mère-Église. This place was strategically important not only for the Allied troops who were disembarking on Utah Beach, but also for the German troops who were planning to move to the said beach and make far greater losses. The occupation of La Fière began in the early hours of the morning. After occupying the 82nd Division, they set up defenses and prepared for the enemy, who very quickly shook off the chaos that reigned after the paratroopers jumped and began to coordinate their troops. The defense of La Fière lasted from 6 to 10 June 1944 and made history and claimed a large number of lives.
