Open Doors
This documentary is about a community set up more than 80years ago, when a few migrated from Andhra Pradesh to Yelahanka in search of work. A community which started off with just 20-30 people, now holds around more than 500 people where not only Hindus , Muslims or Christians but also people from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu and Karnataka conversing in Hindi, English, Telugu, Tamil, Marathi and Kannada are living together in harmony within this community. My documentary is about how this slum which can easily ricochet the sight of a passerby, carries upon it's shoulders not only unique and intriguing individuals but also richness of their thoughts and opinions about life in general. It feels as if they are the ones who have really understood the real meaning of life. There are difference in opinions within them about various topics like happiness , education, castism etc, where one one would really not understand that who is really right and who is wrong. One talks from a perspective of experience where another speaks from a perspective of education. It's a space where the lines get blurred.

I am a 24 yr old budding filmmaker and an expressionist. I finished my graduation from Srishti institute of Art, Design and Technology, Bangalore in June, 2019. Currently doing theatre in Kolkata and working on scripts for my upcoming films. I have a lot of stories to be plunged out of my system through the mediums of films but I am just waiting to get to the best of my abilities to give my stories the deserved respect and love. And I have an enthusiasm towards knowing and going into the depth of my emotions as to understand them closely and interpret things about myself. I want to evolve as a person and that automatically will reflect in my films. That's why I feel personal growth is important for professional success. I am as transparent as the medium of film and this is how I choose to express. There are other forms of expression like writing , poetry , playing ukulele and dancing also through which I enjoy so much so , I just can't get tired of it. My day to day life of discipline has shaped me not only personally but also professionally. Meeting new people is the biggest asset of my creative and beautiful stories. My family has tought me balance, kindness, patience and unconditional love. The city in which I live - Kolkata has shaped my ideology about culture , happiness , enjoyment. All these things together has shaped me not only as a filmmaker but also as a person.
