Jaime Enrique Prada is an interdisciplinary artist who was trained at the University of Lima and at the Faculty of Art and Design - PUCP; His works have been exhibited in Peru, Argentina and Brazil. He explores the relationship between gender and society, challenging traditional roles and hegemonic structures. He has an introspective look and emphasizes the construction of an identity that evolves and interferes with different aspects of human life.
My work is an evolution of my self-perception, I challenge the concepts about masculinity and social roles with which Afro, dissidents and lgbt + people are associated. I generate a reinterpretation of society, from a post-colonial perspective that claims ethnopolitical and promotes sexual liberation.
Politics and activism are embedded in the art that I do, it is important for me as an artist to take reality as dead and to engender a new one from which to reflect.
The process by which I develop the projects is based on an intuitive and hybrid investigation in which imagination, information, misinformation, everyday life, sexuality and technology are used. This creates interactive, fantasy and fragile scenarios that are confronted with a harsh reality.
I use diverse means that complement, merge and converge; I intend to explore new techniques that expand realities and generate different understandings of the tangible.
