Director Biography - Todd Hughlett

Todd Hughlett followed in the footsteps of most mechanical engineers who graduated from Virginia Tech, and decided to move to Los Angeles to become an actor and film maker. Thanks to his classic “engineer” looks, he instantly began modeling and acting in LA and eventually transitioned into a larger roll behind the camera.

In order to keep his sanity, Todd enjoys long walks on the beach, playing with his dogs, deep-sea fishing, annoying his friends by blasting country and Christmas music year-round, and riding his Harley Davidson off into the sunset.

Director Statement

Nina (plays “Katrina”) brought this script idea to me in the beginning of 2019. She had wanted to work with Addam (plays “Rodney”) on a project for a while, and thought she had finally found something that fit both of them. Originally her thought was a lover's argument on the side of the road. However, my business partner (Joseph Hernandez, DP) and I saw the potential for more. So what started out a simple scene quickly developed into a rich short film. “On the Road Home” tells the story of an end to a toxic relationship, and how far people will go when faced with that end.

I’m happy to of had the chance to bring Nina’s story to life, and I hope you enjoy our film.
