Colette Prosper writes character-driven stories that draw heavily from absurdist humor, and the sometimes odd complexities that arise when navigating life as a first-generation immigrant. Currently living in LA, Colette is a member of "Insecure" executive producer Amy Aniobi’s inaugural TRIBE Writers' Program, a talent incubator for emerging screenwriters. Colette is also host of The Yummicoco Show, a pop culture variety show podcast, featuring comedy sketches, and freewheeling interviews with Hollywood creatives.
My eccentric comedic sensibilities is thanks in large part to my campy home state of New Jersey, my colorful Latin American family, and the films of Pedro Almodovar and John Waters. "Onions" is about “a dinner gone wrong.” A woman’s romantic dinner plans end on a sour note after her date's unexpected reaction to her "scented" candle. As a filmmaker who enjoys creating complex and off-beat characters that discover their hidden strengths when confronted with a difficult situation, I hope viewers can relate to this character as she finds herself with an insurmountable problem.
