Dibyendu Chatterjee is a struggling writer of science fiction novels, a genre that is not very popular anymore among readers in Bengal. On one of those occasions when a writer needs inspiration to tear out of their writer’s block, Dibyendu visits Mandarmani, a beachside town much to his publisher’s dismay. Little does he know that nature holds a different fate for him here. He encounters a mysterious man holding his sway over hundreds of birds without even moving a finger or calling out to them. Dibyendu fails to get an explanation from the man who seems absolutely indifferent. But as he turns to leave both the man and the birds vanish into thin air. What he experiences is a strange scenario from the kind of stories that is usually imagined and written by him in his books. Such absurdities have no place in the real. But what he is yet to realize, is that in his pursuit of the truth he is about to witness the weirdest of illusions, mankind has ever seen.

Director Biography - Sudipto Shankar Roy

Sudipto is a pass out of Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute in the year 2008 with specialisation in Editing. He has been working in the Industry since then both as an editor as well as a graphic artist. He was the Chief Assistant Director & VFX artist for the feature film 'Crossing Bridges'. It won the National Award in India in 2014. He has been Film Editor and VFX artist cum Post Production Co-coordinator
in Satyajit Ray Film & Television Institute from January 2013 to
August 2015. 'Jalasayanam', edited by him was the winner of Golden Royal Bengal Tiger Award at Kolkata International Film Festival in 2014. It was the Official Selection of Imagineindia International Film Festival. He was the winner for Best Editing in the 8th Cut.In Festival conducted by the Tata Institute of Social Sciences. The Documentary '8 Rooms & 9 Doors' edited by him was the Official Selection at 7th International Documentary and Short Film Festival Kerala. It was the Gold Winner for Best Documentary in the 8th Cut.In Festival. 'Randu Kuripukkal' edited by him won the Golden Royal Bengal Tiger Award
at Kolkata International Film Festival in 2015 and was the winner of Best Short Film at 10th Signs Film Festival Kerala. He has also
worked as the Post Production Supervisor at Hectic Content Private Ltd. Mumbai from October 2015 to September 2016. The Bounty a Sci- Fi short film directed by him in 2017 has been selected in several International Film Festivals like KIFF, Festicine Kids Cartagena, Dada Saheb Phalke International Film Festival, Akruti International Film Festival, On Air Film Festival - IL VENTO CHE PORTA SORRENTO, Black Box Short Film Festival in Switzerland. It won the best Science Fiction Film Award in Bengal's International Film Festival held in Bangalore in 2018.
