Biographical sketch
SUSY LÓPEZ P.
Mainly a stage artist, the actual pandemic restrictions have expanded her work to the production of live action short films with puppets, and is now more committed to scriptwriting and seeking funding for future projects. Director, producer, actress and puppeteer, this short is her first, yet deserved one of the ATINA Virtual 2020 Awards in Argentina, as Best Production for Young Audiences. Her creations seek the appreciation of the art of puppetry and transversality within the arts.

Graduate from the University of the Americas-Puebla, CEUVOZ (Voice and Speech Study Center) and the Latin American Puppetry Arts School (ELAT), she will soon receive her Master Degree in Applied Literature.
On the short.
1954. Death has been pursueing Frida for a while. Since the leg issue, her days aren't that good, but she does know how to live life.
"One last drink", where puppets mingle with movies and art, is an homage to Frida Kahlo and traditional mexican music. In here, animation is not digital, but live action performed with table top puppets. The narrative, literary and visual, progresses thanks to the research made for this historical fiction: pictures, letters, her Diary, essays, museography and interviews. Hence, most of Frida's dialogues are not only true, but came out of her own pen. The miniature world, the charming dolls, humour and mexican folklore, all help display, in this profile-tale, the strenght, joy and some hidden corners of Mexico's most reknowned female painter.
