Josh Parker is an aspiring director. Before joining the University of Staffordshire, he attended Sixth form where he did A-level Media as it was the closest option to Film Studies he had. He enjoys the creative process, but also the on screen acting and in his independent work he will sometimes double as director and actor. He’s always admired low budget independent studios and hopes to one day be part of a team that gets to produce their own films.
Tatum Hodgkinson-Rowe adores the creative side to film such as writing and directing. She regularly writes poetry and general fiction literature and aims to get her work published. Before starting Film Production, she did Cartoon and Comic Art which she didn’t end up enjoying as she felt forced into pursuing art after receiving an unconditional offer to study at Staffordshire University. During her first year she realised it wasn’t a right fit pretty much right away. She ended up gravitating towards film students and she discovered her passion for film and writing after getting hands on experience with sets affiliated with the course, then ultimately decided to switch onto Film Production. In college she did Film Studies, Fine Art and English Literature and since then has explored her love of creating narratives and using art and words to craft ideas or subjects she’s passionate about. She has a deep interest in psychological films, she tends to romanticise the human experience throughout her writing, showing both the good and the bad.
Eve Broughton is a filmmaker passionate about discovering her own unique cinematography style alongside exploring other areas of the film industry. In college she studied A-level film studies, media studies and photography, as well as completing a foundation diploma in performing and production arts. This selection of prior education has allowed her to gain a range of useful knowledge on theoretical knowledge, critical analysis, and practical skills. She aims to create impactful films that explore human emotion and philosophical ideologies in a creative way, with the aim of creating deep ideas that resonate within an audience mind for time to come.
Wren Crowley is a filmmaker with a strong interest in horror, especially in the visual aspects of film, from set design and cinematography to practical effects and puppetry. They’ve studied Art & Design and Film Production in college, starting them off with a good insight into visual art which they’ll continue to develop here at university. He isn’t quite sure what he wants to focus on as a career: likely related to the creative side of the industry, and they hope their time at the University of Staffordshire will help them narrow these aspirations down!
