Director Biography - Jaimi Qiu

Jaimi is a Chinese-American artist interested in color design and backgrounds! Originally from the SF Bay Area, they are currently studying as a Character Animation student at CalArts. In their spare time, Jaimi enjoys playing video games or taking care of their garden!

Director Statement

The film "One Last Time" is my second year (BFA2) film at CalArts! The setting is based on a creek that childhood me would go after school to play in. The place was a pocket of nature in the middle of suburban sprawl. I wanted to capture this timeless whimsical feeling, while also exploring more nuanced topics like grief.
