One Closet, Twenty Toes and a Gun
Love can strike anywhere. Even if you’ve just escaped from prison like Louie and you are currently hiding inside a policeman’s closet with some guy you don't know – a guy who broke into that very policeman’s house. Louie is still in her orange prison slacks, but she ditched her flip flops to run faster. Louie likes toes, and Francois happens to have ten of those, and cute ones to boot. Francois never did anything impulsive until he opened the door and looked into Louie’s slightly crazy, slightly scary, sexy eyes. Now he’s sitting barefoot in a closet, trying to curl his toes away from Louie’s while hers are slowly creeping toward his. And soon, the owner of the closet – a man who showers with his firearm – will realise he is not home alone.

Morné Strydom is a Cape Town-based Writer & Director. After 17 years of crafting his skills in writing and directing commercials in the world of advertising as a Creative Director, he quit his job and co-founded One More Cup of Coffee Films with producing partners, Aisha Williams & Lindsey Appolis.
“One Closet, Twenty Toes and a Gun” is Director Morné Strydom’s debut film. This offbeat and fresh dark comedy was produced on a micro-budget over 3 days in Cape Town.
“One Closet, Twenty Toes and a Gun” is a story which carries the message that it’s okay to be strange, to be weird, to be an outcast, and even those who society might see as odd or even unwanted, will eventually find others like them.
It is a love story, but also a story of acceptance, of owning who you are and coming out of the closet, whatever that closet means for you.
The story also challenges traditional gender roles though a strong leading female character who is the catalyst in driving the change.
