Once there was a Queen who, in her Queendom, had but one rule:
“Anyone who dislikes the Queen must die!”

Citizens had to gather and perform Queen-idolizing rituals.
She would kill the ones in whom she noticed the slightest dislike.

One day, the Queen received a daughter.
Unlike the Queen, the Princess was genuinely kind.

The Queen noticed that the citizens started to truly like the Princess.
And so she came to understand nobody had ever liked her.

She cried and said:
“Please forgive me. I truly do not like myself for how I have behaved!”

-----------------------------------

The citizens thought of the only rule they knew:
“Anyone who dislikes the Queen must die!”
And they murdered her.
