Tedjo P. Imardjoko is a writer-director from Yogyakarta, Indonesia. In 2018, he moved to Los Angeles, CA to learn and share his passion for stories and cinema. Today, he splits his time between Los Angeles, CA, Charlotte, NC and his hometown Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Director Statement

For a while, I've wanted to tell a story exploring the discrepancy of social classes in a singular contained environment that was -- figuratively and literally -- 'close to home.' My first instinct was to write a feature script -- which I did. But then came the issue of getting it produced. Here's a fun fact: making a feature film without the resources to make a feature film was simply featuringly frustrating. So, I decided to adapt my feature script into a standalone short film that could capture a similar sense of mood and tone. With an iPhone and the tremendous support and commitment of a small band of equally passionate friends, I am very proud to present our film: "Pada Suatu Hari Yang Panas" a.k.a. "Once Upon a Hot Day"

We hope this film can be a starting point to an otherwise larger narrative that, I believe, will be appealing and relevant for audiences of all walks of life because it is a story worth telling and fundamentally reflects the nature of society.
