Mandela Etkisi
Kemal Abi and Azime have known each other since their high school years, and Azime has harbored a deep-seated desire for revenge against Kemal Abi for years. After a heated argument in the coffeehouse, four women and a waiter end up dead. By sheer coincidence, Kemal Abi is present at the scene, drawing all the attention towards him. The police are unable to determine how the victims were killed, but only Azime and Kemal Abi know the truth. Azime, who works in the narcotics division, doesn't want Kemal Abi to go to prison, so she collaborates with the homicide department on the case. However, her true intention is to kill Kemal Abi herself. When they meet again after many years, Kemal Abi's behavior deeply affects Azime, making her reconsider her plan. She finds herself faced with a choice. She ultimately decides to kill Commissioner Ferhat, with whom she had been working closely. After leaving Ferhat's lifeless body in the forest, Azime and Kemal Abi, wearing masks, walk down the street together. The four women and the waiter who died in the coffeehouse were killed because they had caused both financial and emotional harm to each other. In reality, the coffeehouse was a nightclub, and the waiter was trafficking the four women. All four women were killed with a single bullet because they had emotionally hurt one another. Determined to erase herself from this world, Azime brings Kemal Abi along with her. They decide to end everything with one last meal at the coffeehouse.

No one is innocent. At times, events that are far from ordinary become the roots of regret. Kemal Abi is a man who lives alone, having erased the concept of love from his ideology because he fears death. The events at the coffeehouse deeply disturb him, causing psychological turmoil. But what exactly happened at the coffeehouse? It involved four sex workers and a waiter who was trafficking them. The coffeehouse was actually a nightclub, used for illicit business. These women and the waiter, who had caused each other both financial and emotional harm, found their fate sealed by a final argument. The argument at the gambling table between Buket and Sema led to all their deaths. The only person unaffected by the deaths is Kemal Abi because he had no involvement in the events. Sometimes, there is someone who hides secrets that no one else can know. In this case, it’s Azime, who works in the narcotics division. Fearing that her old flame, Kemal Abi, would end up in prison, she takes on the investigation herself, lying to the homicide bureau. But how did Azime become the first person to understand what happened? Because the dead emit a smell. Every person has a scent, and the smell of rain on the earth is actually the scent of all dead people. After many years, Azime meets Kemal Abi again, and her desire for revenge consumes her. She wants to kill him because life is cruel. But things don’t go as she planned. Kemal Abi treats her so kindly that it’s impossible not to fall in love with him again. She convinces herself that “everything will be as it was” and abandons Commissioner Ferhat, with whom she had been working, to his death for the man she loves. Where is a dead body buried? How is it erased from the world? Not knowing the answer, Kemal Abi and Azime take Ferhat’s body and quickly flee the scene. A forest comes to mind. They decide to leave the body there and don’t forget to wear their masks. Humans see what they want to see. Kemal Abi and Azime believe they are hiding behind their masks and don’t want anyone to see them while they feel the pain of existence down to their bones. They don’t want to see anyone else’s face either, so for them, everyone is masked. An evening meal... The last evening... Kemal Abi and Azime, wanting to end everything, come to the coffeehouse one last time to talk, and they organize a beautiful dinner. They say everything they couldn’t say before, and after drinking their poison, they kiss and commit suicide together. Azime, determined to die, takes Kemal Abi with her. Because civil war... Whenever humanity fights with itself, it harms the one it loves most. It is destined to do so because humanity is pitifully weak. There is no other way.
