On a Holiday to Mars
“On a Holiday to Mars” is a humorous short film set in the near future, where the couple Tuomo and Eija have gone on a package vacation to Mars. In their cramped capsule cabins they try to solve an argument that began the night before. The task is not made easier by the Travel company’s persistent marketing.

Arguing has always been part of a relationship. The hallmark of a healthy relationship is that you can also settle disputes.
“On a Holiday to Mars” is a short film about the quiet love that couples feel in a long relationship. The environment may change, time may change, but everyday love between people has always been similar. A stone foot, and at the same time a stone pendant that we carry with us in the relationship. Together.
Old love doesn’t always need words. A look, a gesture, a sigh is enough and the other person will understand. Understand that now is the time for silence. Understand that now is the time for action.
In this short film, I draw on Tuomo’s behavior from my experiences from my own long relationship. Often a detour is a shortcut to forgiveness, even in Space.
