On My Honour

A group of 3 scouts with varied interests is on their journey to find the mythical lake in Singapore. It is their last adventure before they move on to their next phase of life.

As fatigue sets in, conflicts between the trio happen. Inevitable arguments over who should be the navigator happen. Through the conflicts and dialogues in the journey, the trio reveals their fears and hopes for the future without each other.

Director Biography - Victor Gan

Victor is a graduate of Rhode Island School of Design (RISD) Film/Animation/Video programme. After four years overseas, he realises that he wishes to tell stories close to his heart and his own culture. He believes strongly in the adage of "the more personal you are, the more universal you get.”
Victor’s 29 minute effort won him the Bruce Bolduc Memorial Award (Best Film) from his department in 2016 and “Best Drama” from Ivy Film Festival. The film also screened at prestigious international short film festival such as Palm Springs ShortFest.
After graduation, Victor continues to take produce and direct independent films such as “Old of things”, a fly-on-the-wall documentary on a Dakota crescent resident. This effort won the open category of “Singapore Heritage Film Festival 2017”.
Victor is well versed in all aspects of production, other than directing his own thesis film, he was the director of photography for Abigail Best’s Spark which premiered in Rhode Island International Film Festival. In addition to that, he served as the art director to Wee Li Lin’s short “Areola Borealis” which played at SGIFF and Shorts short Film Festival.
