Jeff Seemann makes his directorial debut with "Terror Trips", from a script that he also wrote and produced. He graduated from the University Of Cincinnati in 2016 and has been a filmmaker for five years.
"Terror Trips" is the 10th horror film that he was worked on, a list that includes "Wrong Turn (2021)", "Strangers: Prey At Night", and "Haunt". He has worked in multiple departments, taking on positions that range from director to assistant director to script supervisor.
He currently has three other finished scripts and hopes to begin working on one of them in the fall of 2021.
"Terror Trips" was shot in September of 2020, during the global pandemic. All precautions were taken to provide safety for the cast and crew, a topic that makes Jeff very proud. 257 COVID tests were taken by the cast and crew, and all 257 came back negative.
"Terror Trips" is my love letter to horror films and especially to horror fans. I grew up a fan of the genre and my love has never faded.
The primary topic behind the film is terror tourism - visiting the locations where iconic horror films were shot.
- I've been to the original Camp Crystal Lake from "Friday The 13th".
- I've spent the night inside the Sawyer House from "The Texas Chain Saw Massacre".
- I've slept in the woods of Burkittsville, Maryland where "The Blair Witch Project" was filmed.
- I've even visited Cesky Krumlov in the Czech Republic, where the early scenes of "Hostel" were filmed.
This film is very special to me, and not just because it's my first time in the director's chair. All of the things I love about the horror genre are poured into this film. I know that old-school fans of the genre will appreciate the love and care we put into this film and in honoring the classics.
