Olympia Huntress (Olympia Caçadora)
This work looks at the painting "Olympia", authored by Édouard Manet, and attempts to recreate it by using Olympia as the figure of a generation of the social media and excess. She tries to gain coverage through the use of violence against her maid, whom she ends up killing. It´s a critique to the way that our youth has a preposition to do the most cruelest and wildest acts just to gain notoriety on the internet. However it´s also a way to explore the topic of gun control, since today´s youth have achieved an unlimited acess to guns, causing many horrors such as school shootings and massacres. It also explores the cruelty of one social class to another, with the maid being the receiver of the cruelty that this Olympia inflicts upon her. Because of her lower status and the way that she depends economically on this job, makes her defenseless against the sadistic Olympia.

Born and raised in a small vilage called Moledo, situated in Lourinhã, on the district of Lisbon, I was exposed to the world of the arts since I was a child by the hands of my family. Filmaking and photography have been two great ways to express my vision of the world surrounding me as well my own ideology and thoughts. I always try to bring out to attention newer and refreshing perspetives of multiples issues that plague our current world in a way to bring these topics to light.
