Oliver Whitehouse is a Chinese-British artist currently studying a bachelor of Media Arts and Production at UTS.
His filmography draws on the influence of his diasporic upbringing after migrating from China at the age of twelve. Exploring the intangible effects of place, memory and culture, he navigates the unique interactions between these forces and modern concepts such as digitisation and globalisation, visualising the unique and surreal experiences that emerge from our rapidly changing contemporary existence.
He works in the mediums of film, writing, photography, and other forms of visual art. His experimental short MYTH, music video 'Analogue Memories' and screenplay 'Metamorphosis' were awarded the Inner West Young Creative prize for film and writing. His short Documentary 'Signals from Home' has also been nominated as a finalist for the International Film and Entertainment Festival Australia 2024.
