Fabian Weißenborn was born in 1998 in the Bavarian Alps. In primary school, he discovered his growing fascination for film and took his parents to the cinema anytime possible. After school, he decided to start working in the film industry and shortly after started studying film directing at "Hochschule Macromedia". Movies with flawed, but strong characters are the ones that inspire him the most as a filmmaker.
"Old Wounds" deals with the post traumatic stress disease. It's not only a problem for those who suffer from it, but also for the people and family around them. My family told me similar stories about the consequences they felt from WWII, without even being alive during the war themselves. In my childhood, I spent a lot of time around the "Chiemsee", where we shot this film. Because of that and some story elements inspired by my family, this anti-war movie is a very personal film for me.
