Odyssey Film Festival has been operating for five years. We had our inaugural film festival called the "Veritas Film Festival" in 2018 at the Rowland Theatre in Central Pennsylvania. The Artistic Director and founder of the festival is filmmaker Spencer Folmar. In future years the festival would have live events both in Central Pennsylvania and at the Guthrie Theatre in Grove City, PA. Since the pandemic the event has become an online only event. We also re-birthed our festival and renamed it to Odyssey Film Festival to reflect the new artistic journey we want to experience with our submitters and jurors. Odyssey hopes to one day have an in-person new home, but for now we are a quarterly online film festival. We hope to see your future submission.
The Competition Process:
Each year, a Prescreening Committee comprised of artists, students, and film professors watch all the films and videos entered in the competition. After all entries have been watched, the pre-screeners evaluate all entries to determine films to include in the official selections.
Laurels will be awarded by jurors, in the following categories: Feature Narrative, Feature Documentary, Short Narrative, Hard Faith™, and Student Film.
