This project was, for me, one of passion. As someone who has always had a fascination with the macabre and started watching horror movies at way too young of an age, I also feel a strong sense of nostalgia every time the leaves start to turn and the air turns chilly. This movie is an attempt to combine the childlike sense of wonder you felt as a kid, going trick or treating by yourself for the very first time, and scenes of pure tension and horror. The movie was made as my final thesis project for film school and was fairly ambitious in terms of the number of locations and people involved, and was shot over the course of nearly seven months from October through April. In many ways, it was like shooting seven different short films that were then woven together. I wore almost every hat imaginable throughout the production of the movie, but still could never have brought the universe of Octoberland to life without the help of dozens of people. In the end, this movie is a love letter. A love letter from me and my childhood self to the month of October, to the cooler air and crunchier leaves, the Halloween and Halloween specials on TV. A letter to sitting around after midnight shooting the breeze and trying to creep out your friends with a scary story. To cheesy B movies and horror movies that still scare me to this day. To candy and trick or treating and a full moon and weird noises coming from the woods, or your attic. To the "autumn people", as Ray Bradbury called them, such as yourselves, such as myself.

Thank you, and I hope you enjoy the movie as much as I enjoyed making it.
