OVERCLOCKED : Origins

Logline: After her father is brutally murdered by nomadic outlaws, an ex-military special operative decides to take matters into her own hands and enlists the help of an unsuspecting young cargo pilot along the way.

Synopsis: (Spoilers ahead) Combining state-of-the-art Unreal Engine 3D motion capture technology, OVERCLOCKED Origins is a live-action introduction to my popular, online "animated" series.

Several thousand years into the future, Earth's natural resources are nearly depleted, forcing humanity to venture beyond the boundaries of our solar system to terra-form and harvest new worlds. Due to such rapid expansion, the frontier regions have become unstable and dangerous. Ava Huxley, an orphan-turned-former military special operative, is one of the few brave souls to face this challenge with her foster father, Hank Huxley -- both combat vets-turned-freelance miners. After a cave mining excursion on a particularly desolate desert moon, Mordos, they encounter a mysterious group of nomadic outlaws, who murder Hank in cold blood, Ava barely escaping with her life. One month later, Ava is at rock bottom after yet another failed attempt at therapy. Giving into her impulses, she ends up taking matters into her own hands and prepares to return to Mordos to kill as many of the nomadic outlaws as possible -- a suicide mission of sorts. After crossing paths with a fledging young cargo pilot , Jade Starunner, Ava convinces her to give her a ride back to the site of her father's death under false pretenses. Upon arrival, Ava admits her true motive and bargains with Jade to return in a few days. Overwhelmed, Jade refuses and abandons Ava, who ultimately succumbs to her fate and faces the violent nomads head on -- but, in a twist of fate, Jade has returned to help, only to have her ship shot-down in the process, leaving the two of them stranded and surrounded by the gang. With their budding connection having rekindled hope in themselves and their futures , they decide to face this new world together, one step at a time.
